New Candidates    Nick Mavro and Jon Miles

Nick and his wife Jill have been Winchester residents for 6 years and are parents to John (9) and Lucy (4). Nick has been coaching in the WYH program for the past 4 years, most recently coaching the Mite 2 team. Nick is passionate about hockey and the life skills it teaches. He focuses on making sure each player enjoys the game and experiences the camaraderie and pride that comes from being on a team, while working with each player to develop their hockey skills. His son will be playing for WYH in the upcoming season at the Squirt level and his daughter will continue with learn-to-skate/play.

Nick grew up in Natick where he played hockey, football, and baseball. He went on to graduate from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Civil Environmental Engineering. He also earned an MBA from Babson College and today works for an asset management firm. Nick is also a board member of One Summit, an organization focused on building resilience in kids battling cancer through experiential learning with Navy Seals, storytelling, and community engagement.

Jon, his wife Lyndsay, and son Grant (9), have been residents of Winchester since 2014. He has been involved in coaching in Winchester Youth Hockey since his son started playing LTPH with the little Bruins in 2018, and has served in Head Coaching and Assistant Coaching roles each year since. A lifelong, passionate hockey fan, Jon was raised in Medford where he played youth hockey from Mites to Midgets, and went on to play for 2 years at Arlington Catholic High School. After high school, he earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Accounting at Boston College, and later became a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts. Jon has worked in a number of accounting and finance roles for nearly 20 years, and today he is employed at Philips Healthcare, where he is the CFO for its Clinical Data Services business. Outside of Winchester Youth Hockey, Jon also coaches for a local club hockey team, and has been involved in coaching local baseball, flag football. Alongside his wife Lyndsay, he facilitates operations for Winchester Town Day's annual fishing derby.
